The A20 Pro chip, built on a 2-nanometer process, features a six-core CPU paired with a seven-core GPU. Apple states that the GPU can perform up to 40% faster than the A19 Pro. The chip also includes a Dual 16-core Neural Engine with a total of 32 cores dedicated to AI processing. A new thermal design places the processor nearer to a larger vapor chamber. According to Apple, this setup can provide up to 40% higher sustained performance compared to the previous generation.
Battery capacity has also been increased, especially in models that rely solely on eSIM. Apple rates the iPhone 18 Pro for up to 36 hours of video playback, while the iPhone 18 Pro Max can reach up to 45 hours under the same testing conditions. The Pro model can attain 50% charge in approximately 15 minutes when using compatible wired accessories. eSIM-only variants will be available in markets such as Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the UAE, along with several other countries outside the region.
iOS 27 introduces Siri AI to the new Pro devices
Running on iOS 27, the iPhone 18 Pro series supports the latest Apple Intelligence features. Siri AI enters beta on September 14 for supported devices set to English. Apple has plans to add support for French, Japanese, Korean, Portuguese, and Spanish in October. The virtual assistant can utilize information from messages, emails, and photos when users seek assistance.
