AHMEDABAD, India/ RankWire.AI / — The United Arab Emirates and India advanced their economic collaboration in sectors focused on the future as over 500 government officials, investors, and business leaders convened for a new session of the Investopia Dialogues in Ahmedabad, Gujarat. This event represented the fifth consecutive edition of the global investment platform held in India. The discussions centered on transforming growing bilateral relations into tangible commercial ventures and partnerships within the private sector. Officials responsible for organizing stressed that the initiative acts as a key mechanism to boost cross-border capital movement, especially following the signing of the Bilateral Investment Treaty between the two nations.

The summit brought together influential public and private sector representatives to identify expansion opportunities in logistics, food security, advanced manufacturing, financial services, tourism, and artificial intelligence. UAE Ministry of Economy Minister Abdulla bin Touq Al Marri met with Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendrabhai Patel during the event. The leaders discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between Emirati companies and regional industrial hubs in Gujarat. Bin Touq emphasized that Ahmedabad’s selection highlights the state’s status as a prominent industrial and economic hub.

Abdulrahman Mohammed Alhawi, Undersecretary of the UAE Ministry of Investment and President of Investopia, shared that over 70 percent of the total investment inflows from Gulf Cooperation Council countries into India originate from the UAE. He pointed out that nearly 4,000 new Indian businesses became members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce in the first quarter of 2026. Alhawi added that the Ahmedabad-based Investopia Dialogues are a strategic milestone designed to facilitate Indian companies’ access to broader global markets via UAE financial hubs.

Driving Investment Flows Through Emerging Industrial Corridors

The event’s economic influence was demonstrated through significant corporate announcements from regional business leaders. Retail giant LuLu Group revealed plans for a 4,000 crore Indian rupee investment project in Ahmedabad. Chairman Yusuff Ali M.A. disclosed a development covering 21 acres that will include a shopping mall, a five-star hotel, and serviced apartments. This project is expected to generate over 15,000 jobs. Additionally, the group is launching a food park and a fish-processing facility.

Representatives from Marjan Developers stressed the increasing role of Indian investors in real estate and hospitality projects. Chief Executive Officer Sheikh Saqr bin Omar Al Qasimi underscored the importance of Indian capital in transforming Ras Al Khaimah into an international destination. Meanwhile, leaders from agribusiness firm Silal Group, including CEO Dhafer Al Qasimi, participated in sector-specific roundtables to discuss modern agriculture, cold-chain infrastructure, and supply chain resilience.

Broadening Private Sector Alliances and Digital Infrastructure Development

Key panel discussions addressed the involvement of sovereign wealth funds, family offices, and private equity in financing large-scale infrastructure projects. Participants explored strategies to streamline regulatory procedures to promote capital flow into sectors with high returns. Focus was also placed on technology transfer, specifically on building digital infrastructure and accelerating artificial intelligence adoption in manufacturing networks. These sessions aimed to enhance the overall competitiveness of both economies in knowledge-driven industries.

The event wrapped up with several bilateral meetings intended to finalize institutional agreements among participating organizations. Organizers indicated that the platform will continue hosting international dialogues in key markets to align private investments with long-term macroeconomic goals. Focusing on trade infrastructure, industrial technology, and joint ventures, the Investopia Dialogues initiative remains committed to establishing predictable channels for investment that support global economic progress.
