    Spanish league to be sponsored by EA Sports in 2023

    Spanish league La Liga title sponsorship will move to EA Sports in 2023-24, according to media reports. According to the league, the video gaming company will replace Spain-based bank Santander, which is entering its final season as the league’s main sponsor. EA Sports signed a multi-year contract with the league, but further details were not immediately available.

    Spanish league to be sponsored by EA Sports in 2023Marca, a Spanish sports daily, reported that EA Sports will pay 30 million euros ($30.7 million) a season to the Spanish league for rebranding, which includes the first and second divisions, as well as initiatives related to youth squads and e-sports. The new deal will kick off in 2023 with new logos and audiovisual features. The league will have its first international title sponsor, as it strives to become more global and closer to the English Premier League.

    Consumers are experiencing these increases amid ongoing inflation and rising fuel expenses. Official statistics indicate household expenses are climbing in various categories, intensifying the burden on families already paying more for essential food items and transportation. Lahore consumers face retail food prices that remain well above official government rates. The government fixed the official price for chicken at Rs461 per kilogram after a Rs22 reduction in the notified rate. Still, retail outlets charged between Rs520 and Rs570 per kilogram. Potatoes, officially priced between Rs27 and Rs30, were sold at Rs50 to Rs70. Tomatoes, listed at Rs130 to Rs180, were available for Rs250 to Rs300. Onions also surpassed their official cap, with retail prices hitting Rs200 to Rs220. This price discrepancy was evident across other staple foods. Spinach was officially set at Rs57 to Rs60, yet sold for up to Rs120. Farm cucumbers, with an official range of Rs85 to Rs90, could be bought for as much as Rs150. The gap in fruit prices was particularly notable. Certain types of dates, with notified prices between Rs310 and Rs435 per kilogram, saw retail costs from Rs800 to Rs2,400.
